Until 1971, Mr Charalambos says, the relations between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots were harmonic: Turkish Cypriots in Akoursos didn\u2019t know Turkish but were speaking \u201cRomeika\u201d, another word for Greek. During his work there, he participated in various conferences and meetings in the EU and beyond European borders. He was responsible for the harmonization of European Legislation and laboratory tests.
